The Art Love Salon · Seattle
A private room for your author or speaker, at no cost to you
I'm Andrew Conru. I trained as an engineer, I've been building internet companies since 1994, and I now run the Conru Art Foundation, a Seattle arts nonprofit. The Art Love Salon is our private event space downtown: 16,000 square feet of art and machines on the fifth floor of 110 Union Street, two blocks from Pike Place Market and around the corner from Benaroya Hall.
We host firesides, demos, live tapings, and seated dinners for 70 to 100 invited guests. Every person in the room was invited by name from Seattle's business, science, civic, and arts communities. Nothing is sold, nobody buys a ticket, and there is no press unless your client wants press.

What we handle, at our expense
- Full production. Staging, sound, lighting, projection, and staff.
- Catering. From passed drinks to a seated dinner.
- The audience. We build the guest list, send personal invitations, and run the door. The entrance is secured and off-street.
- An honorarium. We pay speakers properly. Ranges on request.
- Photography. Delivered to you the next morning. Recording only with your client's written consent, at broadcast quality if wanted.
What an evening looks like
Guests arrive at 6, drinks among the art. A one-hour hosted conversation, no slides unless your client wants them. Dinner or dessert after, and your client leaves by 9. Total commitment is about two and a half hours, and we schedule around tour obligations. Many of our guests pair an ALS evening with a public appearance in town the night before or after; the two events reach different rooms and do not compete.
The venue in numbers
The salon is operated by the Conru Art Foundation, a 501(c)(3). We host our own gatherings and welcome partner events in the same downtown room.

- What does this cost us?
- Nothing. The Conru Art Foundation funds the evening: production, catering, the audience, and the honorarium. We pay speakers properly; ranges on request. Travel is handled case by case.
- What is the recording policy?
- Nothing is recorded without your client's written consent. When your client wants a recording, we capture at broadcast quality and the guest controls how it is used.
- How private is the room?
- No press by default, the guest list is never published, and the entrance is secured and off-street. Every guest was invited by name.
- What are the tech specs?
- In-house PA, projection, and stage lighting, with broadcast-quality audio capture available. Load-in is by secured freight access at 110 Union St. Full spec sheet on request through the form below.
